Health Quotes
TRADITIONAL Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans have no pre-existing condition limitations and no health questions.
The Georgia Access health insurance marketplace Open Enrollment Period (OEP) opened on November 1st and closes on December 15, 2025 for plans effective Jan 1, 2026. The next deadline is Jan 15th for a Febuary 1st effective date. After these dates, the Special Enrollment Period (SEP) begins and you will need a qualifying life event (QLE) to purchase an individual / family health plan. A qualifying life event is a significant change in your life that makes you eligible for health insurance for you or your family outside of open enrollment.
Examples of qualifying life events:
- Getting married or divorced
- Having a child through birth or adoption
- Losing eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP
- Losing coverage due to a change in employment status
- Losing coverage due to a change in family status
- Losing coverage due to a death in the family
FOR QUOTES AND PLAN OPTIONS:
NON-TRADITIONAL health plans are lower cost and available anytime but do have pre-existing condition limitations and ask health questions.
United Healthcare through it’s subsidiary Golden Rule Insurance Company offers Health Protector Guard – a fixed benefit indemnity insurance plan designed to pay preset cash benefits for eligible medical services covered by the plan. It’s an alternative to ACA plans with affordable benefits including coverage for in and out of the hospital, doctor office visits, prescription drugs, and wellness benefits. They also offer SHORT-TERM medical plans for periods of one month to three years. You can purchase either plan anytime of the year but must answer health questions.
